The maximum spans for a roof panel depend on the panel’s thickness and its connection to the beam. A 3″ insulated roof panel can span up to 13′, a 4″ panel can span up to 16′, and a 6″ panel can span up to 20′. These spans are calculated to meet the wind load and uplift requirements of the Florida Building Code. Be sure to consider these span limitations when selecting your patio cover kit to ensure your project remains compliant with local codes.

The panels typically come in 3-inch, 4-inch, or 6-inch thicknesses, offering varying levels of insulation. The foam core, usually made of expanded polystyrene (EPS), provides excellent thermal insulation properties.

It depends on the size and design, but typically, installation takes between 1 to 3 days.

The panels interlock using a tongue-and-groove system, creating a tight seal. Installation is generally quick and efficient due to the panels’ lightweight and modular design.

Florida Product Approval is important for construction materials used in regions that face extreme weather, such as high winds and heavy rain.

Yes, the insulated panels can be 3″ or 4″ thick, depending on building requirements. The thickness of the insulation also helps keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter by regulating the temperature underneath.

Measure the area you want to cover by determining the projection and length. For attached covers, the projection is the distance from where the cover is attached (such as a wall or fascia) out to the edge of the concrete pad or deck. The length is how far the cover extends along the side of the house.

We offer different post size options depending on the product, style, and design. Our most popular size is the 3″x3″ post, which comes pre-notched and is typically used and shipped with our traditional patio cover kits. Of course, this post can be upgraded to a 4″x4″ option. For a modern-style roof, we suggest using 6″x6″ posts for a more polished look. We also carry 8″x8″ posts, which are commonly used for custom-designed, free-standing structures.

The standard post size shipping with the traditional patio cover kits is the 3″x3″ post, but it can be upgraded to 4″x4″ or even 6″x6″ upon customer request.

Yes, use a circular or reciprocating saw equipped with a 7″ blade specifically designed for cutting aluminum. To achieve precise results, use a straight edge and marker to draw the cut line on both sides of the panel, ensuring it is straight and properly aligned with the structure.

Secure the panel securely to prevent any movement during the cutting process. Begin cutting at a low speed to minimize the risk of damaging the insulation. Take care to preserve the panel’s structural integrity as you work. After completing the cut, smooth any sharp or rough edges with a metal file for safety. Finally, clean the workspace thoroughly to remove all metal shavings and debris.
