Modern DIY Patio Kits

General Questions

Alumcenter LLC supplies aluminum patio cover kits, insulated roof kits, and aluminum pergola kits throughout Florida. We focus on providing high-quality material packages for homeowners, contractors, and owner-builders who want a durable patio cover system without going through a traditional full-service installation company.

Our kits are commonly used by homeowners, contractors, owner-builders, handymen, and installers. They are ideal for people who want quality aluminum patio cover materials, a cleaner design, and more control over the total project cost.

Our primary service area is Florida. Depending on the project and material availability, some pickup or special-order arrangements may be possible, but statewide Florida delivery is our main focus.

Our kits are designed for DIY enthusiasts with basic handyman skills. With the provided step-by-step instructions and online video tutorials, most of our customers find the assembly process straightforward. Assistance from another person may be beneficial for certain steps.

Our patio cover kits may include manufacturer warranty coverage for eligible material defects. Warranty terms depend on the specific products supplied and the manufacturer’s documentation. Installation labor, site conditions, misuse, improper handling, or third-party workmanship are not automatically covered by Alumcenter LLC.

If anything appears missing or damaged, contact Alumcenter as soon as possible with photos, order details, and a clear description. We will review the issue and help determine the proper next step based on the order, delivery condition, and applicable manufacturer or supplier policies.

Available Florida Product Approval documents can be provided or linked when applicable. Requirements may vary depending on the project address, structure type, attachment method, span, wind zone, and local permitting requirements.

The maximum spans for a roof panel depend on the panel’s thickness and its connection to the beam. A 3″ insulated roof panel can span up to 13′, a 4″ panel can span up to 16′, and a 6″ panel can span up to 20′. These spans are calculated to meet the wind load and uplift requirements of the Florida Building Code. Be sure to consider these span limitations when selecting your patio cover kit to ensure your project remains compliant with local codes.

A Freestanding Cover is a stand-alone structure that is not attached to any existing building. These covers are supported by post inserts, as required by engineering standards. During installation, the posts are typically set into large concrete footings. Freestanding covers can also be bolted to concrete footings using optional internal post castings

The minimum size kit available is 18′ x 10′

We offer multiple color options for our products. For our traditional roof systems, you can choose from white and bronze aluminum frames, along with white insulated aluminum panels. For solid aluminum pergolas, we provide a more diverse range of color options to suit your preferences.

The final pricing is determined by the dimensions you provide in our online quote system, including length, width, and height, as well as other factors such as attachment options (whether it’s connected to a structure or freestanding).

It depends on the size and design, but typically, installation takes between 1 to 3 days.

Yes, the insulated panels can be 3″ or 4″ thick, depending on building requirements. The thickness of the insulation also helps keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter by regulating the temperature underneath.

A solid roof aluminum pergola has a fully insulated roof made of aluminum, providing complete protection from the sun, rain, and other weather. It’s different from traditional pergolas, which usually have open beams, also called rafters.

For solid covers, a pitch of 1/4″ to 1″ is required per Engineering standards. We recommend a minimum of 1/4″ per foot for effective water drainage. This ensures that rainwater flows off the cover efficiently, preventing water accumulation

We offer different post size options depending on the product, style, and design. Our most popular size is the 3″x3″ post, which comes pre-notched and is typically used and shipped with our traditional patio cover kits. Of course, this post can be upgraded to a 4″x4″ option. For a modern-style roof, we suggest using 6″x6″ posts for a more polished look. We also carry 8″x8″ posts, which are commonly used for custom-designed, free-standing structures.

The standard post size shipping with the traditional patio cover kits is the 3″x3″ post, but it can be upgraded to 4″x4″ or even 6″x6″ upon customer request.

Yes, use a circular or reciprocating saw equipped with a 7″ blade specifically designed for cutting aluminum. To achieve precise results, use a straight edge and marker to draw the cut line on both sides of the panel, ensuring it is straight and properly aligned with the structure.

Secure the panel securely to prevent any movement during the cutting process. Begin cutting at a low speed to minimize the risk of damaging the insulation. Take care to preserve the panel’s structural integrity as you work. After completing the cut, smooth any sharp or rough edges with a metal file for safety. Finally, clean the workspace thoroughly to remove all metal shavings and debris.

Because many patio cover kits are custom-prepared based on project dimensions, returns may be limited or unavailable. Any return, cancellation, or change request depends on the order status, material type, and whether fabrication or delivery preparation has already started.

Materials and Design

A typical patio cover kit may include insulated roof panels, aluminum beams, posts, gutters, downspouts, attachment components, hardware, and related materials needed for the roof structure.

The exact materials included depend on the size of the roof, projection, attachment type, post height, panel thickness, frame color, and project layout.

Yes. Our patio cover kits are prepared based on your project dimensions and layout. We can help quote kits based on the roof length, projection, attachment type, post height, color selection, and delivery location.

Installation is separate from the kit purchase and is not automatically included unless clearly stated in your quote.

To prepare an accurate quote, we usually need:

  • Roof length and projection
  • Attachment type: wall, fascia, freestanding, or other layout
  • Desired post height
  • Panel thickness preference, if known
  • Frame color preference
  • Complete delivery address
  • Photos of the installation area
  • Any sketches, plans, or measurements you already have

The more complete the information, the more accurate the quote will be.

Insulated roof panels are aluminum-faced panels with a foam core. They help create a stronger, cleaner, and more finished patio roof compared to basic sheet metal or non-insulated covers.

They are commonly used for patios, outdoor seating areas, screen rooms, and other covered outdoor spaces.

Some projects can include fan beams or additional framing options for future electrical features. Electrical work should always be handled by a qualified electrician.

If you plan to add fans or lights, let us know before quoting so the proper material options can be reviewed.

Engineering, Permits, and Code

Many of our patio cover systems use Florida-approved components. However, the final requirements for your project may depend on your property location, wind zone, roof size, attachment type, footing conditions, and local building department requirements.

The exact materials included depend on the size of the roof, projection, attachment type, post height, panel thickness, frame color, and project layout.

Permit requirements depend on your local building department and the scope of your project. Many patio cover projects in Florida may require a permit, especially when the structure is attached to the home or needs to meet specific wind-load requirements.

You should confirm permit requirements with your city or county before beginning construction.

Engineering requirements are project-specific. If signed and sealed engineering drawings are needed for permitting, they may need to be prepared by a licensed engineer based on your project address, layout, dimensions, and site conditions.

Engineering is not included we provide a master sheet.

Many patio cover projects require proper footings or concrete support for the posts. The required footing size and depth may depend on the roof size, post placement, attachment type, wind-load requirements, and local code.

Existing pavers, slabs, or patios may not always provide the required structural support.

Delivery and Pickup

Yes. Alumcenter LLC delivers patio cover kits throughout Florida. Delivery availability, timing, and cost may depend on the project size, material type, delivery address, and route scheduling.

Pickup may be available for some orders depending on the material package and order details. Large kits require proper transportation, loading preparation, and safe handling.

If you plan to arrange pickup, let us know before placing the order.

Yes. Someone should be available to receive, inspect, and help unload the materials at the delivery location. Patio cover kits can include long panels, beams, posts, and other large components that require proper handling.

Installation and Support

We can provide general guidance, product information, and available resources to help customers understand the kit components and planning process. The installer or owner-builder is responsible for proper installation and code compliance.

Tools may vary by project, but installation commonly requires measuring tools, drills, impact drivers, saws capable of cutting aluminum components, ladders, fasteners, sealants, and safety equipment.

The exact tools needed depend on the kit type, attachment method, and installation conditions.

In some areas, we may be able to refer you to an independent installer. Any installation agreement, price, schedule, or workmanship is handled separately between you and the installer.

Inspect your materials as soon as they are received. If something appears missing or damaged, contact Alumcenter promptly with photos, order information, and a clear description of the issue.

Claims are easier to review when they are reported quickly after delivery.
